Milano, June 2024.
MAKSYM aims to portray intimate scenes of conflict with the body, self-image and gender identity. Taking as a starting point the relationship that Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe had with gender, we explore inhabiting spaces in which this sense of peace coexists with a sense of discomfort. Dressed in militarized garments in a silent scene like Lotta Volkova in The Day Of My Death, the characters are forced to interact with themselves and confront uncomfortable issues surrounded by too much space, always unarmed.
